Session Planning Advice

Clothing:

• In general solid colors and long sleeves always photograph best.
• Select a variety of outfits from formal to casual
• Make sure that your clothes are ironed. Wrinkles will show up in your photos and cannot be retouched out.
• Bring socks, shoes and a belt to match each outfit
• Our sessions contain a variety of poses from close-ups to full lengths

Hair:

• It generally is not a good idea to try a new hairstyle or color right before your portrait session
• Please dry and style your hair before arriving at the studio.

Props:

• Props are a great way to make your portraits more personal and unique to you. Sports, guitars, and pets the possibilities are endless!
• There are no extra charges for bringing in props pets or friends.

Gals:

• Less is more when it comes to makeup. Too much makeup can make your skin look unnatural. Use powder to tone down shiny areas.
• Your hands may show in quite a few of your photos. If you wear nail polish make sure that you nails are well manicured.

Guys:

• Make sure that your shirt is the correct neck size, especially when wearing a tie. A shirt that is too big or too small photographs poorly.
• Be sure to shave closely to avoid 5 o'clock shadow.
• Your hands will more than likely show in some of your portraits. It is important to make sure that your nails are clean and trimmed.
